Description
This work marks several milestones for me. This is the first watercolor painting that I've done. It's literally the first time I dabble with watercolor. If you look carefully at the first building on the left, you can see that there are very uneven areas, created by the over usage of paint, which gives it a very powdery feel (and created one hell of a surface to work on). That's because I started painting that area first and I was still trying to understand how watercolor works. I still have a long way to go to understand colors. Most of the colors used here are secondary colors, or rather, the combination of the premixed colors that I have I would love to have it more vibrant and realistic but as far as the first attempt goes, this is all I could muster
As mentioned in the WIP piece, this is also my first attempt at perspective drawing. In theory, it seems so simple but in practice, unless I'm drawing cubes in the exact same orientation, it can get confusing. This is also the first time that I did a drawing without reference. I mean, for architectural sketches, I didn't have to get as detailed as this. I can have floor plans and elevation drawings to flesh out the ideas. Here, it's what I draw is what I get.
So, do let me know what you think, and thanks in advance for any fav. I may receive!
Stats:
A3 300g/m2 Daler Rowney watercolor paper
Daler Rowney 24 colors watercolor set
Probably 20-30 odd hours.

Excellent wotercolour work, especially for your first go.
If you want more vibrant then try acrylics or oil, they give a higher gloss finish and stronger colour.
